NB Office

Located on the outskirts of Bellary, the upcoming corporate office for NB Infrastructure is a workspace for transport and infrastructure company. The design incorporates climate-responsive architecture with layers of materials to offer comfort. The structure is entirely shielded with massive stone walls and tropical creepers that keep the heat at bay and maintain a comfortable environment indoors.

Inspired by the contextual architecture of Hampi, the design features random stone masonry on the external facades of the building, complete with smaller openings that lend a monolithic approach to the exterior while reducing heat transfer from the outside. The incorporation of greenery, with tropical creepers and plants outside the building, creates an additional layer of protection against external dust and heat ingress. While the use of locally quarried stone cladding imbues the structure with an authentic and organic feel that pays homage to the surrounding landscape. The ground floor houses various office spaces, a waiting lounge, and a reception area with the staircase acts as a focal point that draws one’s attention upwards. The first floor of the building comprises management cabins and conference rooms, all arranged around the courtyard.

At the heart of the cubic structure lies a traditional courtyard of a southern style of architecture, complete with a mesmerizing water pond that not only restores passive cooling but also creates a delightful ambience. The office space pays tribute to the local landscape and seamlessly blends in with the local context.
