The bare shell of the R Villa residence in South Bangalore is a modern rendition of luxe minimalism. Designed for a family of six, the R Villa redefines flexibility in each space, where the house's layout is the chief deciding factor.

Beige tones and lustrous textured finishes engulf the interiors of the formal living room with liberal connections to outdoor landscapes that connects various spaces. Each space thoughtfully captures the client’s desire for monochromatic themes and polished finishes. Shifts in volume are observed in the informal living and dining areas, tied together by a similar neutral base that is effortlessly broken to introduce hues of nature through pops of green. While the kitchen affirms to a dark marble counter with fluted glass panels that collapse to open the space for large gatherings.

The first floor accommodates two bedrooms for the client’s children with an identical material and colour scheme. Consciously designed to steer clear of clichéd colours, dark marble surfaces colour blocks the beige undertones in the bedroom, with the addition of fluted treatments to create drama when illuminated. While the bathrooms are doused in dark hues peppered with white. Occupying the entire expanse of the second floor, the master bedroom emanates luxury in all forms. While the washroom offers opportunities for relaxation with a life-size jacuzzi and pockets of foliage.

Further upwards, the last floor has a private office and study with a large outdoor terrace. Openable floor-to-ceiling fluted glass sliding doors allow the entire space to be opened up for large gatherings. The floating glass panels with strips of glistening metal patterns against the beige background of marble offer an uber delight to the interiors of the R villa. The outdoor terrace and bar are an interlude to the overall massing, where the main bar takes centre stage with the glass ceiling and metal countertop. Whereas the dark flooring is spotted with red chips to tie the overall space.
